Scotlandsmusic

In the early years of this century Marjorie Kennedy-Fraser, a talented musician and composer, visited the Outer Hebridean Islands in search of traditional songs. This fine example was sung to her by Ann MacNeill, an inhabitant of Barra, an island noted for its native melodies. Gaelic verses (freely translated here) were added by Kenneth MacLeod, a native of the islands and an authority on Hebridean culture.
