There Was a Lad (audio)

This popular song was written by Robert Burns to the air 'O Gin Ye Were Dead Guidman'. As there was only one strain to the original tune he used a variation of the tune from Oswald's 'Pocket Companion' for the second strain. The original air is said to predate 1549.
