Johnny Cope (sheet music)

This reel was written in 1745 soon after the battle of Prestonpans. It has been ascribed to Adam SKirving, a farmer who lived near the battlefield. Fiddlers, singers, pipers and even American fife and drummers play this tune and it is very popular. Arranged by Duncan Kennedy for Scottish groupwork sessions for recorderand whistle, 1st, 2nd and 3rd fiddle, cello, bass, guitar chords and fully realised piano part.
