The Fiddler and His Art (album)

Fiddle music from five different regions of Scotland and played by tradition bearers. A source cd for learners and listeners interested in the different regional styles of playing in Scotland. Strathspeys, reels, slow airs, marches, waltzes and jigs from five different regions of Scotland played by stalwarts Hugh Inkster, Pat Shearer, Andrew Poleson, Donald MacDonell and Hector MacAndrew each playing their individual style and a selection of great music to represent their areas.

The Scottish Tradition Series consists of a selection of material previously held in the archives of Edinburgh University's School of Scottish Studies.  See our fiddle section on the website - Taigh na Teud has a book and Cd of Traditional Scottish Fiddling from different regions which complements this cd collection.
