This song is from Herd's Collection. The song is said to date from the Duke ofMarlborough's campaign in Flanders in 1708.
The first and last verses are original, the second and third verses werewritten by Billy Ross, formerly of the the band Ossian. The package includesboth the solo song and two harmony parts so is really useful for group work too.

Will ye go tae Flanders?
Will ye go tae Flanders my Mally o?
Will ye go tae Flanders my Mally o?
There we'll drink wine an brandy
An sack an sugar candy.
Will ye go tae Flanders my Mally o?

Will ye go tae Flanders my Mally o
Tae see the bonny sodgers there, my Mally o?
They'll gie us pipes tae blaw
Coats o red an kilts sae braw;
Oh, the finest o them a, oh my Mally o.

Will ye go tae Flanders, my Mally o
Gin I tak the royal shillin there my Mally o?
An will ye tae a foreign shore,
For tae hear the cannons roar,
An the bloody shouts o war Oh, my Mally o?

An will ye go tae Flanders my Mally o
Tae see the chief commanders my Mally o?
Ye'll see the bullets fly
An the soldiers how they die
An the ladies loudly cry my Mally o.
