The High Road to Gairloch (audio)

This Scottish tune is very popular for learners on the fiddle and is thought to date from the 17th Century. It is found in the manuscript of Sir William Mure of Rowallan and scholars believe he wrote it between 1612 and 1623 and in many other early collections. There are many variations including Katie Bairdie and Gabhaidh Sinn an Rathad Mòr.
