The Braes of Mar (audio)

This is the pipe strathspey of the song. John the 17th earl of Mar was not a nice person. He was known to burn roofs off houses of folk who refused to join his regiment. In the 1715 uprising he switched allegiance back and forth from the Jacobites to the English crown and was known as “Bobbing John”.
