This is a very popular song from Jacobite times and often played as a fiddle or bagpipe solo as well as sung. It also appears in Robert Burns collection for Johnson’s Musical Museum. We have also included a version popular in the USA. This version is from the singing of Jean Lepley who learned it from her 90 year old mother as a play - party dancing tune.
